"The album opens with ‘That Stone’ and the first thing you hear is the tuba supplied by Evan’s father. Written while Evan was on the verge of homelessness, the gentle acoustic song is a reminder that security is transitory and few of us are safe from serious hardship. You won’t find a great deal of gnarly punk rock here, but the electric guitar comes in on the second track, imbuing ‘On Our Feet,’ with a powerful sense of wonderment and hope. A multi-instrumentalist with talent to spare, Evan pours his heart and soul into each track, giving the listener time to reflect on the fragility of life. We All Destroy knocks down the walls of hate and division before rebuilding them with consideration and respect. I won’t say keep a tissue handy but be prepared to feel things you might not have felt in a very long time.

We All Destroy continues with ‘Windshield,’ a song the artist wrote in Italy after deciding to take employment in a work camp. In what has become a familiar approach, ‘Windshield’ starts softly before crashing in with the drums and guitars, building to a Nick Cave-like crescendo that ends with a final, percussive blast. ‘Final Fall’ is a straight up rocker to get the blood flowing and the heart pounding. Written as an acoustic song, it is anything but that. The song ‘Gibberish’ is not actually gibberish but is instead a plea for human decency and a little empathy for this increasingly hateful and divisive world. Perhaps such things might come across as gibberish to some but they shouldn’t. ‘Enemy’ is a punk rock song Evan wrote as a fourteen-year-old when other kids were playing basketball or picking their noses. Next up is ‘Burn,’ a choppy and weighty message for anyone struggling with sobriety. This is a recurring theme throughout, and it’s clear that Evan has walked a long and difficult road.

The album closes not with a roar of hyperdriven guitars and furious drums but in a dirge-like protest against the new world order and the smaller problems that creates. Written in a near blackout state, ‘We All Destroy’ was recorded in one take, which makes it all the more remarkable. Only the cello was added later, and Evan will forever be trying to decipher the deeper meaning behind the lyrics. Alcohol often damages the creative process but sometimes the hard truth seeps through." - Chris Walter
